Barrett, here is your site the way a guest sees it.

You asked about the layout on phones, the amenities column, an Airbnb calendar, search for both markets and upkeep. We walked every page on a phone, measured them and checked what Google sees. It all comes back to four things you want from the site.

The Beats Working homepage on a phone, showing the Alabama Gulf Coast and Blue Ridge Mountains tiles
Your homepage on a phone today. Both markets share the top of the page, a strong start.

First, what is already working

Your reworked Emerald Dreams and Modern Overlook pages are the shortest on the site, and their expandable sections are the pattern we would build every listing around. The homepage now gives the Gulf Coast and the Blue Ridge Mountains equal billing. The photography is strong, the brand is distinct, and the site already runs on a modern WordPress block theme with no page builder. Google ranks Beats Working first for its own name. None of that needs to change.

You want a site that feels cleaner and faster on a phone.

Your questions on layout, scrolling, the amenities column and speed
Six of your pages captured on a phone and drawn to the same scale. Each orange tick is one full phone screen of scrolling.

What stands in the way

Your two reworked listings run under four screens. The older listings run nine or ten, mostly because the long amenities list is squeezed to half its column. The destination pages are the real endless scroll. A guest on Alabama Gulf Coast swipes through twenty screens of area copy before reaching the homes.

Photos are the other drag. Each page loads 6 to 10 MB of images, and on a phone the main photo on Emerald Dreams takes about 30 seconds to appear. Google's speed test scores these pages 46 to 58 out of 100.

The fix

Carry your Emerald Dreams pattern to every listing, in this order:

  1. Photos, then the name, location and a beds, baths and guests line
  2. The reserve button and a few key highlights
  3. The availability calendar
  4. Featured amenities with a show-all drawer
  5. Description and house rules in expandable sections
  6. The map, then other homes in the same area

Destination pages lead with a short intro and the home cards, with filters for bedrooms, guests, beachfront and pet friendly. The area guide stays for Google, in expandable sections below the homes, so a guest reaches the homes first.

Photos get saved at web size. They look the same, load faster on a phone, and new uploads resize automatically.

The amenities column, solved

You were right that the text was not using the full column. One small detail in the site's custom styling stops the full-width rule from working on phones, so each amenity is held to half the column and longer names wrap. On tablets and small laptops an extra-wide list indent squeezes it further, which is why your 60/40 change helped.

Same page, fix applied. Every name on one line.

Both captures are your live High Tide page. The second has the corrected styling applied in our browser only. Correcting the rule fixes every listing at once, with no column changes page by page.

Check availability
A working sketch of one property template in your current look. Scroll it and tap two dates. The booked dates are samples, not live availability.

What stands in the way

There is no calendar on the site today, so a guest has to leave to find out whether their dates are open. The Check Availability button on Blue Ridge Mountain Retreat opens an Airbnb listing that no longer exists, and Hair of the Dog and Second Wave have no reserve link at all.

The fix

Yes, and without adding a booking system. Airbnb publishes a private calendar feed for every listing. The site reads each feed on a schedule and shows the booked dates on a month calendar right on the property page. No payments and no guest data, and pages stay fast because a guest never waits on Airbnb.

A slim bar stays at the bottom of the phone screen as a guest scrolls. It starts as Check Availability and jumps to the calendar. Once a guest taps their dates, it becomes Reserve on Airbnb and opens the listing. On a laptop the same button stays in view beside the photos.

Worth knowing. The calendar shows booked dates only, with no prices, and it can run a few hours behind Airbnb. Airbnb confirms the final dates and price.

The structure we recommend. Each market is a hub linking to all of its homes and area pages, every home links back to its market, and no current Alabama address changes, so nothing that ranks today is put at risk.

What stands in the way

Google shows Beats Working for 13 searches today, mostly your own name, and the site is not in the top 100 for any of the searches above. Four settings hold it back:

  • The homepage has no page title and no search description, and the main heading Google reads on it still says Discover Alabama's Gulf Coast.
  • Both destination pages tell Google their real address is an older page that no longer exists.
  • A hidden Sea Bliss welcome popup loads on every page, adding a second main heading and repeating the Sea Bliss copy across the site.
  • Property pages do not link back to their market or to nearby homes.

The fix

Those four are fast, so they go first. Then each market becomes its own hub, area pages go up where you have homes to back them, and every property's details (guests, bedrooms, amenities and location) are marked up so Google and AI assistants understand what each home offers.

The broad searches are crowded with large managers and travel sites. We recommend starting with area searches, because they match where your homes are. For a sense of the gap, here is how many searches three local managers on page one appear in, against yours:

  • southerncomfortcabinrentals.com, Blue Ridge6,223
  • gsvacationrentals.com, Gulf Shores3,613
  • beachlifevacation.com, Gulf Shores866
  • beatsworking.com13

Third-party estimates for the United States, pulled October 13 and 14, 2026. You are the only one of the four with homes at both the beach and the mountains, and the site should say so plainly.

You want a site that grows with the business, not one you work around.

Your question on whether the original theme is holding you back

What stands in the way

Each property is its own standalone page. That is why the amenities columns had to be adjusted one listing at a time, and why carrying the Emerald Dreams layout everywhere means rebuilding 13 more pages one by one. Every future layout change, and every new mountain home, starts the same way.

The fix

Store each home's details once, in a simple form, and let one property template lay out every listing. Change the template and all of them update together.

The template does the layout, the calendar, the reserve bar and the details Google reads.

Our recommendation. Same look, stronger foundation.

Best if you plan to add more homes or markets. A new custom WordPress theme that keeps your branding and look, with one property template for all listings, built with our AI development. Your colors, fonts, logo and photos carry over, along with your page addresses and your owner portal. What changes is underneath. Adding the next mountain home becomes filling in one form, and it looks and works like every other listing on day one.

The lighter alternative is to fix in place, best if you want the quickest visible fixes first. The amenities fix, the search settings, the photo cleanup and the calendar all work on today's site. The tradeoff is that each listing stays its own page, so the new layout gets applied 13 more times now and again with every future change.

How we build. AI agents do the work, and our team approves every step.

This is what lets us build you a custom site instead of fitting you into a theme. Agents handle the repetitive build work. People on our team check each piece before it moves forward, and you approve the look.

What it means for you. A custom site and new features sooner and at a lower cost than a traditional rebuild, with no theme to work around.

Agents handle the repetitive work, such as resizing photos, moving each home into the template and mapping old addresses, so our team's time goes to review and to your look. Nothing goes live without a person's approval. One property template means a new mountain home goes live from one form and matches every other listing. When you want something new later, like filters on the destination pages or a third market, it is built into the same foundation instead of bolted on.

You also asked what upkeep should look like.

Your question on maintenance, plugins, broken links and a yearly review

A light, regular routine

  • MonthlyPlugin updates, every reserve link tested, calendar feeds confirmed, new photos checked for size.
  • QuarterlyA speed test on the homepage, one property and one destination page, plus a review of owner portal accounts.
  • YearlyA full review like this one, covering speed, plugins, links, search settings, property details and how both markets rank.

Worth fixing right away

  • Some private owner pages are listed in a public sitemap, a quick fix we recommend right away.
  • The owner login icon in the header points to a web address that no longer loads.
  • The Plantation Resort parking pass page and Our Favorites are open to Google and pull attention from your own listings.
  • Some plugins and code from earlier setups are no longer in use and can be retired, including old social feeds, styling from a past booking widget and a second site map.

The plan, in order.

Fix what guests and Google hit first, then build the foundation

Week 1

Homepage title and description written. Destination pages pointed at their live addresses. Sea Bliss popup limited to Sea Bliss. Private owner pages taken out of the public sitemap. Reserve links fixed. Amenities fix applied to every listing. These carry into either path.

Weeks 2 to 4

Photos resized and unused plugins removed. New theme built in your current look, with the property template, the Airbnb calendar and the reserve bar. Every home and both destination pages moved in and reviewed with you before launch. If you fix in place instead, the calendar, reserve bar and photo cleanup go onto today's pages.

Ongoing

Area pages for Fort Morgan, Plantation Resort, Morganton and Lake Blue Ridge as listings support them. Monthly checks run by agents and approved by our team. A yearly review like this one.
